Before the writing, before the "alchemy," and before the public unmasking, there was a quiet, late-night transmission that needed a name.
In 2025, I began a journey of unmasking that I originally thought was about the act of making. My intention was tactile and focused on creating digital art, physical pieces on wood canvas, and wall charms destined for an Etsy storefront. I built Sent2MeDesigns around the visceral truth of my process, which is that my art is rarely constructed and almost always received. It comes in the middle of the night. It is triggered by a flash memory, a sudden scent, or a jagged realization. It was, quite literally, sent to me.
As I built that world, something shifted. The art began to act as a lightning rod for language. I started writing my feelings and carving out poetry that felt like more of a relief than the physical art ever could. Eventually, the words began to gain more traction on Instagram than the pieces I was selling. I realized the art had become intuitive because it was either the trigger for a poem or the physical manifestation of one. The combination was not just creative, it was healing.
I eventually walked away from the Etsy model because I am a creator rather than a merchant. The marketing of the self felt like another mask I was not willing to wear. But I chose to keep the name. Sent2MeDesigns represents the roots of my unmasking and the community of thousands who witnessed those first fractures. While I move forward as Brandi Lynn on Substack and through my books, this handle is the archive of my beginning. It is the soil the art and poetry grew from, and it should remain until the end.
