Ossuara Press was born from a moment of creative defiance.
When I first set out to publish my work, I followed the traditional path. I did the research and reached out to the industry. But everywhere I turned, I was met with the same rigid requirement: words only, no artwork.
The industry wanted me to separate my voice from my vision. They wanted me to peel away the colors and the textures to make the words fit into a standard box. But for me, the art and the words are a single heartbeat. They are the twin engines of my healing and the honest map of my experience. To strip one away from the other felt like a betrayal of the journey itself.
I realized then that if the traditional publishing world didn't have room for the "whole self," I would have to build a world that did.
I founded Ossuara Press to protect the integrity of the creative process. The name itself is a nod to the "bone-deep" truth of being human. We are dedicated to the honest architecture of the human experience, from the first spark of wonder to the final sediment of the soul.
This press is the home for my poetry, my children’s stories, and my series for adults. It is a space where the grit and the grace are allowed to exist on the same page. Here, "messy" is not a mistake, and "complex" is not a hurdle. We believe that when you pull the darkness into the light and integrate your shadows with your art, you find a peace that no polished product can ever offer.
The mission of Ossuara Press is simple: to prove that you do not have to choose which parts of yourself to show the world.
Every book and poem published here is evidence of a journey. These are not just products; they are mile markers. They are for the people who feel "too much," for the seekers navigating their own convoluted paths, and for anyone who has ever been told to simplify themselves for the sake of fitting in.
Whether I am writing for a child discovering their world or an adult unearthing their past, my goal is to provide a sanctuary of integration. I want to show you that your whole story; chaos, art, and all, is the only story worth telling.
