SATURDAY MORNING. SEVEN-THIRTY.
A sunbeam, sharp and bright, didn't just hit her eye—it felt like a tiny, joyful elbow nudge from the day. Time to wake up.
JUMP!
Aurora was out of bed like a launched spring. She landed silently, perfectly balanced in a superhero crouch, ready for launch. Her feet were still floppy with sleep, but her mind was already zipping at bubble speed.
First, mission: THE UNIFORM.
The purple dress, vibrant and swirling like a hidden galaxy, went on first. Then came the polka-dot socks, a cheerful, mismatched mess she insisted were necessary for "optimal thinking and happy feet."
Next, the most vital job of the morning: THE HAIR ENGINEERING.
Her bright, coppery curls were wrangled fast. Twist, twist, PULL. She didn't just make buns; she built two magnificent, puffy towers — two sweet, spiraling cinnamon-roll buns that wobbled slightly when she shook her head. They were perfect. She gave them a quick, satisfied tap.
She slipped on her glasses. They felt like the final switch, making the world snap into high-definition focus. Grin. The day needed to POW!
She dashed to the window, expecting a burst of possibility.
